Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices, student supports, curriculum, assessment, and classroom management. Ability to develop and implement appropriate lesson plans, programs, services, and supports aligned with student needs and applicable standards. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, administration, and related service providers. Strong communication, organization, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of special education procedures, IEP implementation, student intervention supports, and/or related services preferred. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, administration, and the school community. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70). Reports To: Designated Administrator TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT The employee will be compensated at Kenilworth Board of Education’s substitute teaching long‑term rates and benefits. The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals, and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund or the Public Employees’ Retirement System. Employee assignments may include: Long‑term sub less than 6 months Long‑term sub 6 months or longer Long‑term, full school year assignment Benefits are provided first of the month after 30 days of service. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:16-1:1, time accrued in a leave replacement position does not count toward tenure.
