This team is composed of Providers, other Athletic Trainers, Sports Physical Therapists, Therapy Services Aides, Regulatory Scheduler roles and a Patient Account Representative. The clinic delivers services to student athletes of all ages in the Deer Valley and/or Scottsdale Unified School District, covering orthopedic and sports injuries. The role will float to multiple high schools within the Deer Valley and Scottsdale Districts to provide support as needed. Success requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and meeting the minimum requirements of the role. Job Summary Under the supervision of the Lead Athletic Trainer, the Athletic Trainer evaluates, administers, and oversees evidence‑based treatment of student athletes in both field and clinical settings. The trainer develops and updates appropriate plans of care in collaboration with students, families, and physicians, following referral guidelines, state and national standards, and departmental policies. Responsibilities include interfacing with physicians, co‑workers, caregivers, and other healthcare providers, contributing to process improvement, and maintaining professional growth and policy enforcement. Essential Functions Provide comprehensive athletic care, collaborating with physicians and adhering to national and state statutes; evaluate athletes, develop plans of care, deliver the six domains—prevent, protect, evaluate, assess, rehabilitate, counsel; serve as a resource to staff; refer athletes to appropriate HonorHealth physicians; maintain records in EMR. Supervise assigned athletic training team at designated locations; mentor, lead, schedule, and direct staff; recruit and train new staff; oversee emergency and safety action plans; conduct drills; identify department needs and process improvements; manage clinic operations, inventory, cleanliness, staffing, and supervise students, volunteers, and community. Educate interns, students, volunteers, and the community on proper care, training, and safety procedures; precept student athletic trainers; deliver training and reports to university partners. Participate in departmental and interdepartmental meetings, in‑services, utilization review programs, committees, and mentor programs; attend pre‑season physical exam clinics; maintain licenses and certifications. Work variable and irregular hours and shifts regularly; perform other responsibilities as assigned. Education Master's Degree in Athletic Training may be substituted with experience and NATA BOC certification—Preferred. Bachelor's Degree—Required. Experience 1 year of experience in a related role—Preferred. Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS)—Required. Rehab/ATC—Athletic Trainer Certification Upon Hire.
