Essential Duties, Functions And Responsibilities Performs a variety of simple and routine tasks to assist skilled workers with the ventilation, heating, cooling and control systems. Troubleshoots, calibrates, services, and maintains different types of HVAC equipment, roof-top units, drinking fountains, ice machines, morgue and controls. Works with skilled trades or craftsmen to assist in the performance of installation, maintenance or repair work. Such assignments ordinarily involve two or more tasks that require selection of common hand tools all equipment, exercising fundamental knowledge of nomenclature and working characteristics and following precisely defined work sequences and processes. Performs tasks such as daily logs, cleaning tools, equipment and work areas, etc. Works with skilled trades or craftsmen to learn the incidental tasks associated with two or more occupations. Works with and receives instructions from higher-grade workers. Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings ventilation, controls, and refrigeration systems. Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures on the M-Pulse 8 Database Makes minor electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs. Assists with snow removal during winter months. Assists with demolition and construction in the hospital. Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years direct work experience in construction or facility maintenance. Education High School diploma or Equivalency (HSE). Navajo/Indian Preference FDIHB and its facilities are located within the Navajo Nation and, in accordance with Navajo Nation law, has implemented a Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy. Pursuant to this Policy, applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for this position and who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation will be given primary preference in hiring and employment for this position and members of other federally-recognized Indian tribes will be given secondary preference.
