We are looking for an experienced Sr. Compensation Analyst to support compensation strategy and analysis for a non-profit client in Washington, DC. This Long-term Contract position will work closely with HR leadership, academic and administrative departments, and senior decision-makers to provide guidance on pay practices, job evaluation, and compensation planning. The role focuses on maintaining effective compensation frameworks, delivering market-informed insights, and helping leaders make well-supported workforce and salary decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage compensation frameworks by supporting salary structures, job families, and pay grade administration across the organization.

• Perform market studies and benchmarking reviews to assess external competitiveness and inform compensation recommendations.

• Analyze new, revised, and existing roles to determine appropriate classification, level alignment, and pay positioning.

• Advise leaders and HR partners on compensation-related matters, including promotions, reorganizations, and workforce planning decisions.

• Interpret and apply compensation policies and classification guidelines to promote consistent and compliant practices.

• Examine internal pay data to identify equity considerations and support fair compensation outcomes.

• Prepare reports, dashboards, and executive-facing analyses that summarize compensation trends and key findings.

• Contribute to compensation initiatives such as annual salary planning, job architecture development, and organizational design reviews.

• Review position documentation and organizational structures to improve role clarity and compensation alignment.

• Demonstrated experience with compensation analysis, salary benchmarking, market pricing, and compensation program administration.

• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas for analysis, reporting, and data validation.

• Working knowledge of classification standards, pay equity concepts, and compensation-related regulatory requirements.

• Background evaluating positions and developing pay recommendations based on internal alignment and external market data.

• Ability to translate complex compensation information into clear guidance for HR partners and leadership teams.

• Experience creating reports, dashboards, or analytical summaries to support compensation decisions.

• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive compensation information.

• Certified Compensation certification is a plus but not required.
