Schedule
- Full-time
- 36–40 hours/week depending on schedule
- Varying shifts:
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Every other weekend: 2 × 10-hour shifts
- No call
- No floating
- Temp-to-perm possible
- Dress Code: Pewter scrubs
Requirements
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
- PharmD preferred; BS Pharmacy accepted
- Louisiana Pharmacist License required
- Pharmacy registration in the state of practice
- Hospital experience preferred
- BLS or ACLS through AHA
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications according to physician orders and hospital protocols
- Verify medication orders and maintain accurate patient medication records
- Sterile/non-sterile compounding, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
- Controlled substance management
- Monitor drug therapy for interactions, allergies, contraindications, and appropriate dosing
- Pharmacokinetic and renal dosing
- IV-to-PO conversion and clinical interventions
- Anticoagulation management
- Antibiotic and opioid stewardship
- Provide drug information and clinical consultation
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality improvement activities
Important: This position specifically requires an active Louisiana Pharmacist License .
