Job Description
ATC West Healthcare is seeking a full-time Orthopedic Surgeon to join its collaborative orthopedic team, providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care in a community hospital environment. This role combines surgical and non-surgical orthopedic management with opportunities to perform a broad range of orthopedic procedures while working closely with multidisciplinary rehabilitation and healthcare teams.
Dates / Schedule- Full-time permanent position
- Participation in rotating on-call coverage required
- Not accepting:
- Locum or locum-to-perm candidates
- Visa candidates
- Candidates commuting more than 1 hour
- Candidates planning to hold another concurrent position
- Provide comprehensive orthopedic and musculoskeletal care, including:
- Patient evaluations
- Diagnosis
- Treatment planning
- Surgical intervention
- Postoperative follow-up
- Diagnose orthopedic conditions through:
- Physical examinations
- Medical history reviews
- Diagnostic imaging such as:
- X-rays
- MRI
- CT scans
- Develop individualized treatment plans using:
- Surgical approaches
- Non-surgical management strategies
- Perform a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures, including:
- Joint replacements
- Fracture repairs
- Arthroscopy
- Additional orthopedic interventions
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care focused on:
- Patient safety
- Recovery
- Optimal outcomes
- Collaborate closely with:
- Primary care providers
- Physical therapists
- Occupational therapists
- Rehabilitation specialists
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams regarding:
- Diagnoses
- Treatment options
- Care plans
- Participate in:
- Continuing medical education
- Professional development activities
- Conferences and workshops
- Apply evidence-based orthopedic practices and remain current on advancements in orthopedic surgery
- Adhere to ethical, professional, and regulatory standards, including:
- Patient confidentiality
- Informed consent
- Hospital policies
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery required
- Board-eligible candidates must provide graduation date
- Active Vermont medical license required
- DEA certification required prior to start
- CPR certification for Healthcare Providers required
- Clean malpractice history required
- Most recent NPDB Self-Query report within 30 days required at presentation
- Strong proficiency in orthopedic surgical techniques and procedures required
- Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills required
- Commitment to patient safety, accuracy, and ongoing professional development required
