Position Summary : Full Time Pastry/ Prep Cook. 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. M-F. To perform all functions accurately and efficiently while emphasizing great customer service. This is a 10-month position with approximately 2 months off without pay during the summer.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Preparation of deli sandwiches, salad bar and desserts daily
• Bake, decorate, prepare cakes, pastries, and desserts as needed.
• Preparation of specialty items including, but not limited to, gluten free, nut free, dairy free, vegan, etc.
• Comply with nutritional alternative meal production and sanitation guidelines.
• Daily kitchen support during breakfast and lunch
• Ensure timely setup, service and breakdown of workstations!
• Perform routine kitchen and dining services tasks in support of daily services and catering as needed.
• Monitor food quality, ensure proper labeling and rotation. Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Address any issues or concerns promptly and implement corrective actions.
• Support the creation of prep list created to support daily food production.
• Follow all King County Health food safety standards in regard to quality assurance including assuring team is fully compliant with processes and requirements.
• Perform other kitchen and FOH duties as necessary and assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Will need to work outside of normal shift hours for several events during the school year.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in fast-paced food industry
• Proven experience as a pastry/deli cook is a plus
• Must have a current Washington State Food Handlers Permit
• High school diploma or equivalent is desirable

Compensation

• Hourly pay $22-$25 per hour.
• This is a 10-month position with approximately 2 months off without pay during the summer.
