Director of Software Engineering HR Domain

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 10+ years of applied experience.
• We require 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate, and resolve complex technical challenges within your area of expertise.
• We need deep, current, hands-on experience building on AWS with serverless patterns such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
• We require strong expertise in designing and operating multi-region active-active systems with high availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery for mission-critical applications.
• We expect advanced programming skills in Java, including Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem, as well as Python with modern frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask.
• We require modern full-stack experience across web, mobile, and conversational interfaces, including React, TypeScript, and API-first design with GraphQL and REST.
• We need demonstrated experience with AI-native development, including agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and loop engineering, using tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or similar.
• We require experience building MCP servers and custom agents integrated with conversational platforms such as Moveworks, with a focus on accuracy and hallucination mitigation.
• We expect strong command of CI/CD, test-driven development, Infrastructure as Code, and Pipeline as Code, with automated testing and security built into delivery pipelines.
• We require domain experience in Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, or Time applications.
• We need experience leading the adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices across teams, including human-in-the-loop validation, quality gates, outcome measurement, and secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs.
• We require a strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, resiliency and security implications, and governance within engineering workflows.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with microservices and event-driven architecture, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka.
• Preferred qualifications include containerization and orchestration experience, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and GitOps-based deployment on AWS.
• Preferred qualifications include experience integrating large vendor or payroll ecosystems and driving end-to-end automation toward touchless processing.

• We architect, build, and operate highly scalable AWS applications using serverless design patterns to deliver mission-critical Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, and Time capabilities.
• We design and run multi-region active-active applications that are continuously available, self-healing, and built for a large, regulated, globally distributed enterprise.
• We lead hands-on development across web, mobile, and conversational chat experiences, building robust services with Java, Python, and modern front-end frameworks while setting standards for secure, testable, maintainable code.
• We drive AI-native engineering through agentic workflows, prompt and loop engineering, and AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery while maintaining strong controls.
• We build MCP servers and custom agents that enable accurate, low-latency interactions with conversational platforms, using grounding, tool/function calling, and guardrails.
• We establish and enforce modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, TDD, Infrastructure as Code, Pipeline as Code, automated security scanning, and observability.
• We manage and continuously improve a portfolio of applications, balancing rapid delivery with operational stability, security, and compliance by design.
• We champion secure-by-design development with appropriate guardrails for a highly regulated environment, including controls, statutory and tax considerations, segregation of duties, and access management.
• We partner with product, platform, and operations stakeholders to turn business needs into practical technical solutions, while hiring, mentoring, and developing strong engineers.
• We set direction and governance for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation to improve speed, quality, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse guardrails.
• We apply knowledge of software development lifecycle toolchain capabilities, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools, to increase automation value and scale capacity-unlock initiatives.
