Advanced Materials Associate Director, Program and Capture Management

Position: Program/Capture Manager, Associate Director (Advanced Materials) – onsite at Raytheon sites in Andover, MA; McKinney, TX; Arlington, VA; Tucson, AZ; Portsmouth, RI. Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required prior to start; eligibility for TS clearance after start. U.S. citizen required. Responsibilities Lead cross‑functional teams to develop concepts and solutions addressing customer‑identified technology needs and warfighter capability gaps. Identify, shape, and pursue winning proposals for Advanced Materials research and development programs with DARPA, AFRL, ONR, and other federal partners. Develop and guide high‑level white papers and proposals, fostering the capture and execution of technology‑focused contracts. Lead program teams in managing the successful execution of technology‑focused contracts. Build trusted relationships with customers, industry partners, and government organizations to gather business intelligence and shape winning teams. Develop and lead internal investment projects (IRAD, capital initiatives) to strengthen new business opportunities. Support the AMTT Director with strategy, financial commitments, budgets, communications, reviews, and reporting. Mentor, coach, and train employees across multiple functions to foster a high‑performing team environment. Represent Raytheon at key technical conferences and meetings. Travel as required to support customers, partners, and program objectives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and minimum 12 years of chemical or materials engineering experience. Experience in capture management and/or managing technology development programs. Experience creating advanced materials R&D projects. Strong network with U.S. government R&D organizations, FFRDCs, industry, and academia. Preferred Ph.D. or advanced degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline. Recognized subject‑matter expertise and leadership in materials science. Strong time‑management, prioritization, and multi‑project delivery skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and influence and guide team members. Experience in multidisciplinary CRAD environment (capture, proposal, technology evaluation, program management, IP securing). Experience with advanced ceramic, composites, and metal technologies and familiarity with U.S. government and industry test facilities. Experience in advanced materials processing, characterization, and maturation for next‑generation systems. Active Secret clearance required; ability to obtain Top Secret clearance after start. Benefits Competitive salary range: USD 157,200 – 298,800 annually.
