Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Consumer Genetics

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for its San Diego consumer genetics lab, working night shifts Thursday–Monday. The role involves managing NIPS pre/post-lab operations, performing technical procedures, and ensuring quality patient care through specimen processing and instrumentation oversight.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with daily operations of the NIPS Pre/Post Lab
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to established protocols
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
• Determine specimen acceptability and report accurate, timely test results
• Complete preventive maintenance, quality control, and production reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• California CLS license (Generalist or CGMBS)
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
• One year or more clinical laboratory science experience (preferred)
• Ability to pass color vision screening and handle physical demands
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation: $45.00 - $58.00 per hour plus shift differential
