Hygiene Assistant – Franklinton Family Dentistry

Franklinton Family Dentistry is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Hygiene Assistant to join our growing team!

We are a new, privately owned practice focused on providing exceptional patient care in a positive, team-oriented environment. We’re looking for someone who is organized, hardworking, enjoys working with patients, and wants to grow with our practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the hygienist with patient flow and daily hygiene procedures
• Seat patients and prepare them for their appointments
• Take high-quality dental X-rays
• Assist with patient examinations and clinical assessments
• Assist the hygienist with periodontal charting
• Review and update medical history, dental history, and other necessary patient information
• Assist with documenting clinical findings and treatment recommendations
• Update treatment plans and ensure patient records are accurate and up to date
• Assist the hygienist and dentist with documenting recommended treatment
• Perform coronal polishing as permitted by North Carolina regulations and training
• Prepare, clean, disinfect, and turn over hygiene rooms between patients
• Sterilize and organize instruments according to infection-control protocols
• Stock hygiene rooms and maintain adequate supplies
• Help keep the hygiene schedule running efficiently and support smooth patient flow
• Communicate patient needs, concerns, and treatment recommendations to the hygienist, dentist, and front office team
• Provide patients with a friendly, welcoming, and comfortable experience
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, and practice infection-control standards
• Assist with referrals, follow-up appointments, and other patient-care needs as directed
• Work collaboratively with the entire dental team and assist wherever needed
  

What We’re Looking For

• North Carolina Coronal Polishing certification/qualification required
• Current dental radiography certification required
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Friendly, compassionate, and comfortable interacting with patients
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable learning new technology and dental software
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
• Dental experience is preferred
  

Schedule

Fridays (8am-4pm) and Saturdays (8am-2pm), with the opportunity for additional days as the practice grows. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a new, growing private practice and play an important role in building our team and patient experience.
