Occupational Therapist – Acute Care Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231. Work hours: PRN – As needed weekend and weekdays. Minimum 196 hours/year and 1 weekend shift/month. Highlights Flexible scheduling that allows for work/life balance Interesting variety of patients in a fast‑paced, high-volume department Supportive environment with mentoring from experienced team with multiple certifications including Neuro Clinical Specialists, Cardiac Clinical Specialists, Geriatric Clinical Specialists, Neonatal Certified Specialists, Lymphedema Certified Therapist, and Vestibular Certified Therapists Staff‑led process improvement teams dedicated to high quality, evidence‑based care Texas Health Dallas is a Level 1 Trauma Center and DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center Requirements Bachelor’s Degree – Completion of an Occupational Therapy program required 1 year of experience; acute care strongly preferred OT – Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License upon hire required BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Good verbal and written communication skills in English; problem‑solving ability; ability to teach others; time management skills; good interpersonal and customer service skills; basic leadership skills Responsibilities Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment Performs age‑appropriate patient treatment Performs treatment procedures within the scope of the professional license Performs or delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment) Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts covering treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self‑management and assistive equipment Demonstrates competence in the performance of age‑appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age‑specific needs Motivates non‑compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy Benefits 401(k) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Discount Programs and other benefits Delivery of high‑quality patient care A supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth #J-18808-Ljbffr Texas Health Resources
