Work Environment\nThis position is fully remote, allowing Mental Health Counselors to work from the comfort of their homes while maintaining a high standard of care through telehealth platforms. Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to discern each patient's unique trauma background and formulate tailored treatment approaches. \n
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate trauma recovery techniques, resilience enhancement strategies, and evidence-based therapy modalities. \n
- Utilize therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) within individual and group therapy sessions. \n
- Facilitate group therapy and support sessions, encouraging patients to process past traumas and share coping mechanisms with their peers. \n
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for every patient. \n
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies or acute distress. \n
- Educate clients and their families about the impacts of trauma, effective coping strategies, and available therapeutic resources. \n
- Maintain meticulous and confidential records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and session notes in alignment with professional ethical standards. \n
- Engage in professional development through participation in case consultation meetings, workshops, and conferences to stay current with trauma-informed care practices. \n
Your primary focus will be individuals recovering from various forms of trauma, including but not limited to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. By understanding their unique backgrounds and emotional challenges, you will play a pivotal role in guiding them through recovery and empowerment processes, ultimately promoting their well-being and resilience.
Qualifications\n- \n
- Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- A valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Georgia is necessary to practice. \n
Two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health services is strongly preferred. Candidates should have established language proficiency in trauma-informed treatment methodologies and a track record of successfully delivering therapy tailored to trauma-related conditions. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.
