Job Coach
Instruct, supervise, monitor and support employees with disabilities in employment which promotes and maintains work performance, integration and coordination of the services.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Training the supported employee's site co-workers to provide the necessary support and supervision to maintain the job demands.
- Providing support and training for transportation, as needed.
- Providing support to and participating in community integration activities.
- Implementing and training the supported employee the necessary skills to maintain employment.
- Conducting detailed job analysis and designing community employment site.
- Developing and implementing communication process between the supported employee, employer and parent/residential provider.
- Designing on-site training procedures and task analysis.
- Coordinating indirect employment services such as transportation, family, residential and case management.
- Completing any correspondence with MHD, VRD, Social Security or other service provider. Submitting and documenting any financial and performance reports as required by Employment Director and funding agencies.
- Implementing the training strategies for the supported employee to maintain employment.
- Participating in ISP activities to supported employees who are in community placement.
- Maintaining records and operations as specified in the Oregon Administration Rules for Employment Service.
- Collecting data, performing time standard and time studies and job surveys for the supported employee in accordance with Department of Labor (DOL) regulations.
- Providing feedback to the employment manager on status of employment with the supported employee.
- Conducting the supported employee and employer job satisfaction surveys when needed.
- Providing the necessary support to the supported employees to function at the job site (whether it be communication, toileting, medication management, or behaviors).
- Promoting any social interaction/relationship activities between supported employees and co-workers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Employment Services, as they relate to position responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Must pass drug screen and physical/functional exam.
- Must pass criminal history check.
- Must be bondable.
- Must have a valid Oregon Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance and a good driving record.
- Responsible to drive individual(s) with disabilities in personal vehicle (automobile) when needed.
- Must be eligible for driving agency vehicles as acceptable to agency insurance carrier.
- Must be able to evacuate the premises independently in case of an emergency. Must be able to assist employees to do the same.
- Must participate in CPR and First Aid Certification training within thirty days of employment (or as soon as classes are available thereafter).
Education:
Must be a high school graduate or have a GED and be at least 18 years old. College course work and/or experience with the client population preferred.
