Overview
Travel Respiratory Therapist (Registered Respiratory Therapist) specializing in NICU respiratory care, located in Cumming, Georgia. Start date: 09/14/2026 for a 16-week assignment. Weekly pay: $1,505–$1,563. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 12-hour nights on a 2x3 schedule. Setting: hospital travel assignment. Note: No local candidates within 50 miles. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care for NICU patients per physician orders and unit protocols.
- Operate, monitor, and adjust neonatal ventilators and related respiratory equipment; assess responses to therapy.
- Administer prescribed inhaled therapies and medications; perform airway clearance, suctioning, humidification, and related interventions.
- Monitor patient status using clinical assessment, pulse oximetry, and objective data; document care and participate in daily rounds with the care team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to optimize patient outcomes; ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.
- Support neonatal resuscitation and delivery room care as part of the NICU team; maintain NRP competencies and respond to changes in patient condition.

Requirements
- Active Georgia license as a Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT credential)
- NBRC-RRT certification
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- NICU experience with neonatal delivery and current NICU/NRP exposure; minimum 2 years of recent experience in the specialty
- Ability to work in a NICU environment with 12-hour night shifts and rotating holiday requirements
- Holiday requirements: must work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day) and 1 minor holiday (e.g., the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve)
- No local candidates within 50 miles
