Assistant Principal

Summary Oxford Area High School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our administrative team as an Assistant Principal. This full-time position is essential in supporting the principal in the overall management of the school, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring academic excellence. The ideal candidate will be committed to student success, possess strong leadership skills, and be an advocate for both students and staff. Responsibilities Assist the principal in the daily operations of the school, including scheduling, curriculum implementation, and student discipline. Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement educational programs that meet the diverse needs of students. Support teachers in instructional strategies, classroom management, and professional development. Monitor student progress and achievement, implementing interventions as needed to support academic success. Foster a positive school culture that promotes respect, inclusivity, and high expectations for all students. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and community members to build strong relationships and support student learning. Assist in the development and implementation of school policies and procedures in alignment with district goals. Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of staff members. Oversee extracurricular activities and student organizations, ensuring a balanced approach to student engagement. Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers. Coordinate and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff. Address student behavioral issues in a fair and consistent manner, promoting conflict resolution and restorative practices. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding education and student welfare. Requirements Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field. Valid Pennsylvania Principal Certification Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with demonstrated success in an educational setting. Previous experience in school administration or leadership roles preferred. Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including students, parents, faculty, and community members. Proven ability to lead and motivate staff while fostering a positive school climate. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational trends and best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
