Want a summer job that actually matters? Love the water, working outdoors, and being part of a team? The Crystal Lake Park District is hiring Lifeguards to help keep our beach safe, fun, and welcoming all summer long!

This is an awesome opportunity for teens who are responsible, confident, and ready to step into a leadership role.

What Youll Be Doing

As a Lifeguard, youll:

Watch swimmers and beach areas to keep everyone safe.
Prevent accidents by spotting unsafe behavior early.
Respond to water and land emergencies using your training.
Perform rescues when needed.
Enforce beach rules in a calm, respectful way.
Help guests and answer questions with a friendly attitude.
Work as part of a team and support fellow lifeguards.
Attend weekly trainings and staff meetings.
Help with light cleanup to keep the beach looking great.

What You Need

Youre a great fit if you:

Are at least 16 years old.
Can earn prior to the start of the season or already have:
- StarGuard Lifeguard Certification
Can pass lifeguard skill tests and a vision screening.
Stay alert, focused, and calm in busy situations.
Are comfortable enforcing rules and speaking up when safety matters.
Show responsibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

No experience? No problem! Training is provided.

Schedule Details

2040 hours per week, depending on weather and attendance
This is a seasonal position, May 12-September 1.
Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings(4th of July Fireworks is required)
