Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered EEG Technologist for a travel assignment at a busy academic medical center, requiring ABRET R. EEG T. certification and 2+ years of independent EEG experience.

Details

• Supports inpatient and outpatient EEG services including routine, urgent, and continuous monitoring
• Serves adult and pediatric patient populations, including ICU bedside studies
• 4 outpatient exam rooms with a caseload of 4+ patients per day
• Uses Natus NeuroWorks EEG equipment and Epic EMR
• Day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with possible evening or weekend coverage based on department need
• 40-48 hours per week, full-time schedule
• May float between inpatient and outpatient settings
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed

Requirements

• Current R. EEG T. credential from ABRET required
• Minimum 2 years of independent EEG experience in a hospital or acute-care setting required
• ICU or continuous monitoring experience preferred
• Advanced pediatric EEG experience required
• Ambulatory EEG experience with paste, tape, and wrap method required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills with ability to work independently with IT and vendor support
• Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform routine, ambulatory, and inpatient EEG studies in accordance with ACNS and ASET standards
• Ensure accurate electrode application using the international 10-20 system and specialized montages
• Recognize and document clinically significant EEG patterns and collaborate with neurologists and epilepsy providers
• Maintain equipment and troubleshoot technical issues in compliance with facility safety standards
• Document procedures thoroughly in the EMR and uphold regulatory and infection-control policies
• May support learners in the facility's EEG training program
• Any color or pattern of scrubs is acceptable
• Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewal or extension of assignments
• Local candidates are accepted
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should indicate this upon consideration
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
• First-time travelers may be considered
