The Diesel Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment. Working primarily as an individual technician, this position requires expertise in engine diagnostics, fuel systems, hydraulics, electrical components, and brake systems to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Occasional travel for field service or client visits is expected. Career advancement opportunities include progressing to lead technician or supervisory roles.
Responsibilities
- Perform engine diagnostics and repair on diesel engines
- Maintain and repair fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems
- Conduct preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan
- Diagnose and fix transmission and cooling system issues
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs and maintenance
- Adhere to all safety regulations and compliance standards
- Travel occasionally to client sites for field service support
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in diesel engine repair and diagnostic tools
- Experienced with hydraulic and electrical system maintenance
- Skilled in preventive maintenance and brake system servicing
- Knowledgeable in transmission systems and safety standards
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in diesel mechanics
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
