Capital Markets Analyst – Lock Desk
Lake Forest, CA | 100% In-Office
$65,000–$85,000 DOE
We are seeking a Capital Markets Analyst – Lock Desk to support our Capital Markets and Secondary Marketing teams. This is an administrative and analytical role requiring strong mortgage industry knowledge and intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills .
The ideal candidate has experience in Capital Markets, Secondary Marketing, Mortgage Pricing, or a Lock Desk and is comfortable working with loan data, pricing, reporting, and spreadsheets.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain QM and Non-QM rate sheets.
- Support mortgage pricing and pricing systems, including Optimal Blue .
- Assist with pricing analysis, margin management, and reconciliation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly Capital Markets reports.
- Support Agency and Non-QM loan execution.
- Analyze loan and pricing data using Excel .
- Build and maintain spreadsheets using formulas, PivotTables, and VBA/macros .
- Research pricing discrepancies and assist with process improvements.
- Support Sales, Operations, Underwriting, and Post Closing with pricing-related questions.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of mortgage experience in Capital Markets, Secondary Marketing, Mortgage Pricing, or Lock Desk.
- Experience with Agency and/or Non-QM mortgages .
- Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills , including formulas, PivotTables, and VBA/macros.
- Experience with Encompass .
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Optimal Blue or MCT is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field is preferred but not required.
