In this contract position, you'll work closely with an individual who is beginning to lose their hearing, providing both sign language and spoken instruction to facilitate effective communication and learning. The assignment begins on August 20th and continues through May 27th, offering a consistent 35-hour workweek.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in sign language interpretation within an educational setting
• Experience or comfort working 1:1 with high school-age students
• Ability to balance sign language with clear, supportive verbal instruction
• Strong interpersonal skills and patience to foster a positive learning environment
• Willingness to participate in a demo for voco, showcasing your interpretation skills
• Relevant certification or credentials for school-based interpreting assignments (as required)

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct interpreting services to a 9th-grade student in academic and school-related activities
• Use both sign language and spoken English to ensure understanding and accessibility
• Collaborate with teaching staff and support teams to meet the student’s changing needs
• Adjust communication strategies as the student's hearing transitions
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation as required
