that provides a wide range of tests for diagnosis, screening, or evaluation

of diseases and health conditions. We are based in Edison, NJ

Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a medical laboratory technologist

with experience in hematology to join our expanding team of laboratory

professionals. In addition to general clinical laboratory duties, the selected

candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses

that aid in the diagnose and monitoring of blood-related conditions.

Providing highest quality patient care through accurate and timely results

is a pivotal requirement for the position. This is a daytime position, but

occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

Schedule :

6pm- 2am , Monday - Friday, but occasional mornings or weekend work may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of hematological tests, including complete blood

counts, coagulation studies, and blood smears.

• Also perform testing in other laboratory specialties, including

clinical chemistry, immunology, drug testing, and urinalysis.

• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal

performance and reliability.

• Analyze and interpret test results, documenting findings and

communicating critical results to medical staff promptly.

• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, quality control

protocols, and regulatory guidelines.

• Collaborate with other laboratory personnel and healthcare

providers to promote efficient workflow and optimize patient

outcomes.

• Participate in the training of other technologists as needed.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor;s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory

Science, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in a hematology laboratory setting. Similar

experience in related laboratory specialties, such as clinical

chemistry.

• Strong understanding of scientific principles, laboratory techniques,

and instrumentation for clinical testing.

Preferred:

• Experience with Vitros 7600 XT instrument and Ummulite 2000 xpi is preferred

• Certification as a Medical Technologist or similar qualification from a

recognized certifying agency.

• Experience with automated instrumentation and laboratory

information systems.

• Familiarity with molecular diagnostic techniques in hematology or

other laboratory specialties.

• Familiarity with quality assurance practices and laboratory

accreditation standards.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex

information clearly and effectively,

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

as well as part of a team.

• Demonstrated commitment to patient care and laboratory

excellence.

• Ability to adapt to changing workload volumes.

Physical Job Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift) while

performing laboratory tests and operating equipment.

• Frequent sitting during data entry, result analysis, and documentation of

test results.

• Ability to move and transport laboratory specimens, equipment, and

supplies weighing up to 25 lbs.

• Manual dexterity required for handling small laboratory instruments and

performing tasks like blood smears and sample preparation.

• Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching to access materials, samples,

and instruments at different heights.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional

stressful situations, such as critical test results requiring immediate action.

• Ability to adjust to working in various laboratory conditions, such as in

areas that may be cool or have strong odors.
