Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/08/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs Hours: 48 hrs/wk Start Date: Sep 8, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a compact or Alabama RN license and at least 2 years of experience Details Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting Patient population includes those requiring telemetry, PCU/Stepdown, and cardiac monitoring Patient ratio of 1:5 Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30 Every other weekend required Floating to other MedSurg units required Requirements Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) currently in hand or pending Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response required Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration required Ability to start IVs and manage heparin protocols and cardiac drips (no titration) required Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration required Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required Additional Information Provide direct patient care including cardiac drip management, IV therapy, and dysrhythmia monitoring and intervention Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed Must work at least one designated holiday: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate First-time travelers are welcome to apply Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position Hospital housing is available for this assignment American Traveler Job ID P-734683.
