We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join a highly collaborative team working closely with a premier Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) & OB practice in the Fox Valley region. This position features a steady, patient-focused environment with a comfortable pace of approximately 5-7 scans per day . You will work with state-of-the-art equipment (GE ultrasound systems, Viewpoint, EPIC) within clinic settings designed to prioritize ergonomic rest and employee well-being. This full-time role provides predictable day-shift hours, a thorough 6-8 week onboarding and shadowing period, and opportunities for optional, paid weekend differential shifts.


Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

• Diagnostic Sonography & Clinical Execution: Perform required 2D and 3D diagnostic ultrasound examinations; exercise independent professional judgment to adapt scanning protocols for optimal diagnostic clarity.
  
  
• Patient Care & Exam Preparation: Prepare patients for examinations by reviewing histories, explaining procedures, verifying physician orders, and ensuring patient safety and physical comfort.
  
  
• Procedure Assistance: Prepare instruments and provide direct technical assistance to physicians during specialized diagnostic or minor clinical procedures (e.g., SHG, endometrial biopsies, IUD placements).
  
  
• Documentation & Preliminary Reporting: Formulate accurate preliminary findings, document exam limitations, and process electronic imaging in EPIC and Viewpoint for physician interpretation in a timely manner.
  
  
• Equipment & Sanitation Operations: Maintain diagnostic ultrasound equipment (GE systems), operate Trophon high-level disinfection systems for sterilization, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
  
  
• Workflow & Ergonomics: Manage daily patient volume (~5-7 scans/day) while adhering to ergonomic positioning techniques; collaborate respectfully across multidisciplinary teams and assist with onboarding new staff/students.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required, alongside successful completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  
  
• Certification: Active ARDMS certification (or equivalent accredited specialty board credentialing through ARRT/CCI).
  
  
• Basic Life Support: Current CPR / BLS certification for healthcare providers.
  
  
• Experience: Proven clinical competence and hands-on professional sonography experience.
  
  
• Licensure: Valid Driver's License required (to support multi-site rotation across local regional clinics).
  
  
• Preferred Experience: Prior specialized experience in Obstetrics (OB) or Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) sonography is strongly preferred.

Schedule/ Shift:

• Core Schedule: Full-Time (1.0 FTE), Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
  
  
• Optional Shifts: Occasional weekend coverage available based on department needs (1-2 hour windows) with pay differential options.
