Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

Duties

Help

• Provides initial security training brief for all incoming personnel, including SCI pre-screening, as required.
• Provides oversight and participates in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of physical security measures in all SCI areas and facilities (SCIFs).
• Participates in the budgeting, design, procurement, installation, evaluation, oversight, and management of all SCIF access control, identification, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
• Coordinates protection of Information Systems Security pertaining to secure areas, rooms, and facilities, in order to ensure maximum protection of IT equipment, software, media, and other forms of communications.
• Investigates report of security violations, including physical access and unauthorized disclosure of National Security and/or National Intelligence Information.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
• This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
• In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
• This is a drug test designated position.
• This position requires a Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
• Overtime may be required as workload demands.
• Work may require travel away from the normal duty station. In accordance with the JTR VOL II, employee may be required to travel by regularly scheduled commercial passenger or military aircraft in the performance of their assignment.
• Incumbent must have completed or be available to immediately complete Anti-terrorism Level-1 Training/Certification.
• This is a Mission Essential Position.
• Under normal conditions, shift work or alternate schedule is not required. During time of crisis or to meet mission needs, shift work or alternate schedule may be needed.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:

To qualify at the GG-12 , your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in implementing physical security, anti-terrorism, and force protection policies; evaluating SCI and SCIF security programs, and monitoring security systems to maintain physical security of an agency's assets to include access control, intrusion detection systems, and closed circuit television (CCTV) systems.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-12 grade level.

• This position has been identified as a Defense Security Position (DSP) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Manual 3305.13-M, "DoD Security Accreditation and Certification" and selectees will be required to meet the certification requirements of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) program. As such, the individual selected for this position must obtain and/or maintain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). Upon appointment to this position selectees will have two years to meet the applicable SPeD certification requirements and will be required to sign a statement acknowledging the SFPC requirements and agreeing to permit the DoD to access and monitor the certification qualifications associated with this position. • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
• Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
• This position may require shift work. :
• PPP Application Based Preference Eligibles (Military Reserve and National Guard technicians, Military Reserve and National Guard technicians receiving disability retirement, and Retained Grade employees) will receive priority consideration at the full performance level only.
