Our sustained growth is a testament to our returning clients and committed team.The RoleAs a Fire Sprinkler Designer you will design fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. You will design and create the finished representation for the sprinkler systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools. The drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction, both on-site and in the office. The designer will have responsibility for the initial planning of a project including scheduling of time, creating material stock listing, analyzing changes, and solving problems. Close coordination with the project team will be required throughout the life of the project.Responsibilities:Review construction contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project's sprinkler systemThrough use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility and systems possibilitiesPerform job site surveysEvaluate project specification and coordinate system designs with architects and contractorsCreate detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD or HydraCAD type programsCreate stock list for all material required throughout the project working closely with suppliers and fabricatorsPerform hydraulic calculationsDevelop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers' expectationsCoordinate with other departments within office to ensure proper handover of job informationContinually monitor progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelinesAssist/lead field crews with design related items during installation phase of the projectReport to owner and general contractor about progress and any necessary modifications requiredQualifications:Construction Management degree, mechanical engineering degree or applicable other degree from a technical school or collegeNICET certification required. Either "In Training", or NICET Level I, II, III, or IV certified.Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD and HydraCAD, or other specialized fire sprinkler layout softwareThree years of experience in commercial, industrial, and residential fire sprinkler design is requiredDetail-oriented and skilled in free-hand and mechanical lettering and drawingsWilling to coordinate and work well with othersPossess excellent communication skills-written and verbalWilling to pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference checkAt Fire Solutions, Inc., we put people first.
