Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Instructor to join SDP Next season. As a Dance Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and guiding students of various ages in the art of dance. This is a part-time paid position that offers the opportunity to share your love for dance and inspire the next generation of dancers.

Duties:

- Develop and implement dance lesson plans that align with the curriculum and goals of the studio

- Instruct students in various dance styles, such as ballet, tap, acro, musical theater, etc.

- Provide guidance and feedback to students to help them improve their technique and performance

- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression

- Plan and choreograph dance routines for performances and recitals

- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to coordinate studio events and activities

- Ensure the safety of students during classes and rehearsals by enforcing studio policies and procedures

- Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress

Skills:

- Strong background in dance, with expertise in one or more dance styles (e.g., ballet, acro, tap)

- Experience working with students of all ages, from young children to teens

- Knowledge of childhood development principles and techniques for effective instruction

- Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a focused and productive learning environment

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities

- Strong communication skills to effectively convey instructions and provide feedback to students

- Creativity in choreographing routines that showcase students' skills and abilities

- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching dance

- Time management and strong work ethic

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Dance Instructor (3+ Years)

- Certification or degree in dance, early childhood education, or related field is a plus

- Previous Choreography Experience in Recreational or Competitive settings.

- Compensation is based on years of experience and qualifications.
