Duty and Responsibilities Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Approves in‑process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor. Approves all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests. Returns products for re‑work if needed and completes documentation to confirm re‑work. Documents and updates inspection results by completing reports and logs. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs. Maintains safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Coaches and mentors junior employees; seeks opportunities to grow leadership in others. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, attending seminars, watching industry videos, etc. Accomplishes organization mission by completing related results as needed. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience 2+ years of related experience and/or training required. Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical institute preferred. Must have knowledge of GD&T and Blueprints. Must be proficient with hand measuring equipment and various other inspection devices. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. High School level mathematics. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Microsoft Word processing, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Internet software, navigation e‑mail, database software (preferred). DCC coordinate measuring machine operation with existing programs. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, bend, reach, and twist frequently throughout the day. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds (or specify your range). Ability to lift and position materials overhead or at shoulder level as needed. Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms. Ability to grip, grasp, and handle small components as part of production tasks. Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work at heights as needed. Ability to handle vibrating tools or machinery. Ability to crouch, kneel, stoop, or work in confined spaces periodically. Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, noise, vibration, fumes, and changing weather conditions. Ability to maintain alertness and concentration for extended periods while operating machinery. Work in an environment with moderate to high noise, moving equipment, and fluctuating temperatures. Ability to see, hear, and speak effectively to communicate and respond to equipment alerts and alarms. Visually inspect parts and equipment and respond to safety alarms or signals.
