Role Description The Direct Support Professional is an on-site role located in Baldwin or Roosevelt. This position provides daily support to women and families in shelter and transitional housing, including assistance with daily living activities, encouragement in meeting individual service plan goals, and guidance in accessing community resources. The role involves monitoring the safety and well-being of guests, maintaining a respectful and supportive environment, and documenting observations and services provided in accordance with agency protocols. The Direct Support Professional collaborates with program staff to implement training and support plans, assists with intake and orientation of new guests, and helps facilitate group activities that promote life skills, self-sufficiency, and empowerment. This team member models professional boundaries, upholds confidentiality, and contributes to the homelike atmosphere that is central to Bethany House’s mission. Qualifications Training is provided but the following are desired in a candidate: Background in Human Services or related fields, with experience supporting individuals or families in crisis or transition Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities, including active listening, clear documentation, and respectful engagement with diverse populations.
