As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Checkpoint in Indianapolis, IN , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $17.22 / Hour Job Schedule: Thur 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM How This Role Works: Fixed‑Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities: Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and staff by carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate. Screen individuals, packages, bags, and/or personal items entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders and established security‑related procedures. Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, shipping documentation, and/or identification, and report irregularities, policy violations, or suspicious activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken according to site guidelines. Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unauthorized access, damaged barriers, and other conditions that could impact operations. Minimum Requirements: Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience. Be at least 21 years of age. X‑Ray screening experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
