QUALIFICATIONS :

 

JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Delivers appropriate radiation per treatment planning and collaborates with other healthcare staff ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Records and verifies radiation treatment.
  • Assures radiation protection and safety standards.
  • Assumes responsibility for the proper use of assigned equipment and applies troubleshooting skills and takes appropriate action as necessary.

EXPECTED BEHAVIORS :

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action in volatile situations.
  • Provides and documents care per hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates competence in clinical and technical skills.
  • Provides instructions to patient/families regarding cancer care, therapies and procedures.
  • Seeks educational opportunities to improve knowledge/skill.
  • Participates in identifying or recommending areas for improvement.
  • Completes work in an efficient, timely manner that is conducive to team work and cost containment.
  • Communicates in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Provides patient care following the Patient's First Commitment.
  • Highly effective in working with a care team.

 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: American Reg of Rad Techs (ARRT) 

ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
  • ARRT Registered Technologist Radiation
  • Therapist license in the state of Indiana in good standing.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider.

 

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Mandatory Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies, scope of practice, and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
