AS662 - Mandarin-Speaking Nanny - Manhattan

Overview A kind and joyful family in downtown NYC is seeking a Mandarin-speaking nanny to assist with the care of their three daughters, ages 5, 3, and a newborn due in March, alongside another full-time nanny. The children attend a Mandarin-immersion preschool so they are hoping to find someone to continue that exposure at home now that the oldest child is entering kindergarten. The family is open to someone who wants to start immediately, and they are also willing to wait for the right person- they must have someone in place by September when the oldest child starts school. They are open to relocating the right candidate and can provide a housing stipend as part of the compensation package. The schedule for this role is flexible- necessary hours will be 2:30-6pm when the oldest child is out of school, but they are very open to the schedule that works best for the nanny, either part-time or full-time. Responsibilities Interacting with the children in Mandarin, including reading, singing, and playing games Creating a playful and engaging environment for the children Working as a team with the parents and other nanny to care for the infant and transport the older children home from school and to activities Overseeing mealtimes and preparing children's meals as necessary (the family does have a chef, but there will be some child-related meal preparation) Packing and unpacking for travel Traveling occasionally with the family- this is not required but is an option if desired Qualifications Energetic and enthusiastic Kind and warm, with a good sense of humor Understanding of when to step in and out Hard-working and responsible Comfortable working on a team- the family has a nanny and other staff, and both parents are involved Requirements US work authorization Fluent in Mandarin Fully Covid vaccinated Comfortable working with a dog in the home Confident swimming skills (a plus but NOT a requirement) Looking for a long-term fit with a fantastic family Salary and Benefits $40-60/hr.+ Generous PTO Full health insurance Housing stipend available #J-18808-Ljbffr British American Household Staffing
