This position involves providing advanced clinical care to neurosurgical patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Key responsibilities encompass thorough evaluations, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and active participation in surgical and procedural care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in neurosurgical care for a diverse array of conditions, including cranial, spinal, vascular, peripheral nerve, and functional neurological disorders
  • Conduct evaluations for all new patients, performing detailed neurosurgical histories and physical examinations
  • Develop treatment plans, request necessary imaging, and carry out in-office procedures
  • Oversee postoperative care and routine follow-up appointments
  • Review and respond to radiographic and laboratory findings, managing prescription refills
  • Assist with or perform procedures such as craniotomies, spinal instrumentation, microscopic surgeries, lumbar punctures, ventriculostomies, myelograms, and the placement of traction or fixation devices
  • Conduct daily rounds, including visits to ICU patients; write orders, progress notes, and admission histories and physicals
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies (e.g., MRI, CT, bone scans, myelograms)
  • Evaluate clinical status, implement therapeutic plans for hospitalized patients, coordinate discharge planning, and dictate discharge summaries

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school and obtaining licensure as an M.D.
  • Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program with certification
  • Completion of an accredited neurosurgical residency training program with certification
  • Board-certified or board-eligible through the American Board of Neurological Surgery
  • Completion of a neurosurgical residency training program or fellowship with certification
