About the Role As a Dietary Aide, you will assist in preparing, serving, and delivering nutritious meals to residents while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. Your attention to detail, positive attitude, and commitment to excellent customer service will help ensure every resident enjoys a pleasant dining experience. Key Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation, serving, and food delivery Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dining and kitchen areas Restock food, supplies, and dining essentials Support menu implementation and accommodate special dietary needs Work closely with the dietary team to ensure resident satisfaction Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in accordance with sanitation and infection control standards Operate the dishwasher and ensure proper cleaning, sanitizing, and storage of dishes and kitchen supplies Sweep and mop kitchen, and food preparation areas to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, hospitality, or food service preferred Experience working with seniors is a plus Must be at least 16 years of age Valid Illinois Food Handler's Card is a plus Required Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude Make a Difference Every Day At Serenity Estates of Lena, meals are more than nourishment—they are opportunities to bring comfort, connection, and joy to our residents.
