Job TitleAfinitasAfinitas, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a global leader in equipment, forming systems, and essential accessory products that support transportation, water, and utility precast concrete infrastructure worldwide.Job DescriptionEssential Functions & Responsibilities• Inspect and set up welding equipment for proper and safe use.• Read and understand shop drawings, weld symbols and WPSs.• Understand the requirements of the pertinent AWS welding code.• Properly and safely handle work pieces using overhead crane equipment.• Properly fixture work pieces on welding positioners to effectively weld in the proper position.• Preheat and measure material temperature in preparation for production welding.• Perform high quality welding using MCAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes.• Monitor and control inter-pass material temperature during production welding.• Clean and contour welds using hand and portable power tools.• Effectively use distortion control techniques.• Inspect in-process and completed welds for compliance with requirements prior to presentation for quality control inspection.• Other duties as required.Qualifications0-2 years of MIG welding experience0-2 years' experience in fabrication shop environment0-2 years' Experience with reading blueprintsD1.5 knowledge preferredStrong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills requiredExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting prioritiesAbility to work individually as well as in a team environmentWork EnvironmentWorks in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.Compensation:The approximate pay range for this position is $22-$26/hour.
