Production Manager

Overview Location: Channahon, Illinois, United States Requisition Number: 46153 Role: Responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day Crush, Refinery, Milling or Packaging production operations. Supports the Plant Manager in monitoring and improving plant productivity. What You'll Be Doing Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated and employees and management have a common commitment to safety. Oversee assigned facility production activities (crush, refinery, milling, packaging, warehouse, boiler house, and/or elevator) to ensure operations run at high efficiency. Manage monthly sanitation inspections and lead, monitor and ensure corrective actions are completed as necessary. Track and report facility productivity improvements. Approve daily reports and KPIs for the department; may be responsible for two or more departments. Support and develop Crush, Refinery, Milling and/or Packaging Supervisors in operations issues and troubleshooting. Assist the Plant Manager in planning annual shutdowns. Oversee the Process Safety Management programs, where applicable. Collaborate with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance in all aspects. Develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals and demonstrate continuous improvement across the facility. Support continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for changes in the facility. Monitor KPIs throughout the facility and help develop plans to align teams with Operations Excellence goals. Participate in daily production meetings to stay informed and ensure alignment of production operations management activities. Monitor and manage product yields. Participate in the new employee selection process. Assist Department Supervisors and Shift Supervisors with personnel issues by participating in investigations and recommending corrective actions as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Skill/Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering or related field, or equivalent progressive experience of 10+ years in soybean crushing, oil refining, milling, oil packaging operations, or related activities in support of industrial operations. Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed. Work Schedule: Standard (On-call 24/7 as needed). Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $130,790.00 - $147,150.00. In addition to the regular compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
