For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities. JOB SUMMARY Coordinates the staffing & scheduling for all of Patient Care Services (PCS), assuring that all PCS units on all shifts are staffed adequately. Processes and monitors all scheduling and timekeeping records electronically for PCS employees adhering to applicable hospital and department policies. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience : A minimum of 1 year Administrative Associate experience; prior scheduling experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use). Ability to work collaboratively with all departments. Ability to prioritize daily work and handle multiple priorities. Proficient skills in Windows-based software required in order to perform a multitude of job duties. Knowledge of office practices and procedures, including public contact techniques, supervisory practices and record management.
