Step into a rewarding contract position dedicated to shaping the next generation of critical thinkers as a High School Social Studies educator. This full-time opportunity, based onsite near Philadelphia, PA, begins August 24, 2026, and runs through June 10, 2027. You'll work with a diverse high school caseload and play a pivotal role in providing top-tier instruction from 8:30AM-4PM, Monday through Friday.
What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrated expertise in Social Studies, with proven instructional skills and command of relevant curriculum materials
- Experience teaching in urban school environments
- Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities
- Bachelor’s degree required (for emergency teaching permit eligibility)
- Active teaching certification or current licensure specific to this caseload
- Previous experience in a school setting
- Capability to develop lesson plans aligning with state and district standards, utilizing formative assessment and differentiation
- Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Reliable transportation to ensure consistent onsite presence
- Flexibility and comfort working within district policies and at the specified location
- Availability to commit to a 35-hour weekly schedule without modifications
- Prepared to engage in a virtual interview process
Your Role Will Include:
- Leading Social Studies instruction for high school students, adapting content for diverse learning needs
- Creating lesson plans that inspire student engagement and growth
- Assessing student progress and reinforcing positive classroom management
- Collaborating with colleagues and parents to support student success
