Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room / Adult Admission Unit

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Expected 36–48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Adult Admission Unit (AAU) functioning as an ED-adjacent holding unit, managing admitted patients transitioning to inpatient progressive care
• Monitor, interpret, and manage telemetry and dysrhythmias for a diverse patient population spanning all specialties except ICU-level acuity
• Manage a variety of medical equipment and maintain strong time management skills to support frequent patient turnover (admissions and transfers)
• Float as required to adjacent ED areas for admitted patients, ICU for sub-acute care assignments, and inpatient PCU areas
• Serve as relief charge nurse as needed
• Document and chart using Cerner ; maintain compliance with unit-specific EKG testing requirements (pass/fail, two attempts maximum)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (pending licensure may be considered at submission)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS — RQI certifications are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; prior travel experience required for ER placement
• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completed exemption documentation
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
• Must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; non-local driver's license required on file

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Background in progressive care, PCU, or ED-adjacent/holding unit environments
• Familiarity with high patient-turnover settings and multi-specialty adult populations
• Charge nurse experience or demonstrated leadership in a clinical setting
