This position requires designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud-based systems and applications through infrastructure such as code and automation scripting, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong scripting capabilities, is hyper-focused on customer needs, enthusiastic, a self-starter, and dedicated to the mission.What you'll do:Design and implement secure cloud-based systems and applications, including infrastructure as code (IaC) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelinesBuild, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud-native (IAC) applications in AWS environmentsDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormationCreate and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell to streamline operations and deploymentsEnsure compliance with security and regulatory requirements, including NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, and FedRAMPCollaborate with development teams to integrate security into the development lifecycleImplement and maintain security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network securityAutomate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications and servicesWork with a variety of cloud native tools to add capabilities and secure the platformTroubleshoot complex technical issues across all layers of the technology stackGoals & Objectives:Design and implement robust, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructureEstablish and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines that incorporate security best practicesReduce deployment time and increase deployment frequency through automationImprove system reliability, availability, and security through infrastructure as codeCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive adoption of DevSecOps practicesMaintain comprehensive system documentation to ensure efficient knowledge sharingStay current with emerging cloud technologies and security best practicesContribute to the continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and security postureTechnical Expertise:Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, EBS, ALB, RDS, S3, EKS, ECR, etc.)Strong Linux system administration skills, particularly with RHEL/CentOSExperience with containerization technologies including Docker and KubernetesExpertise in CI/CD pipeline development and automation (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins)Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code practicesUnderstanding of network architecture: VPC design, hybrid connectivity, security groups, load balancingExperience with security hardening and compliance implementation in cloud environmentsKnowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting system implementationProfessional Competencies:Excellent communication skills in both written and oral formatsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyAbility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlinesStrong customer service orientationAbility to interface effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to execute autonomously and take ownership of assigned responsibilitiesHere's what you need:3 years of experience in DevOps engineering or cloud platform engineering3 years of experience with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) or CentOS administration3 years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or similar) and CLI3 years of experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)2 years of experience troubleshooting DNS, VPN, and/or networking configurations3 years of experience with Bash, Python, or other scripting and automation technologiesDoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Sec+, CISSP, CASP, etc.) or DoD 8140 equivalentBonus points if you have:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or 4 years of relevant job or military experience in lieu of degreeAWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty)Experience implementing security controls in cloud environmentsExperience with containerization orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS)Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and KanbanExperience with National Security systems and Air-Gapped EnvironmentsSecurity Clearance:Active Top-Secret Clearance, preferred with SCI eligibility. Must be willing to undergo a polygraph examination if necessary.
