Job Title

Progressive Care Registered Nurse – Varied Shift

Location

Hilo, Hawaii

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift | 36 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to patients in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including Step-down ICU and telemetry beds
• Perform telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar monitoring
• Operate unit equipment including BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring systems
• Document patient care using Meditech charting and administer medications via Pyxis
• Float to other acute care units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and Emergency departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active State of Hawaii Registered Nurse license (must be obtained by assignment start date)
• Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Ability to maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in Progressive Care and 1:3 in Step-down ICU
• Willingness and ability to float to all acute inpatient units as assigned
• Professional scrubs dress code compliance required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Progressive Care and telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Current PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
