Capital Area Community Services, Inc. is hiring a Building Aide for their Harley Franks Head Start location in Lansing, MI 

This position is 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year. The starting rate for this position is $15.10.

Job Summary

Performs job duties for a variety of cleaning and custodial maintenance tasks inside the buildings and on the grounds surrounding the outside of the building .

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of related experience in janitorial and groundskeeper duties .

Position Duties/Responsibilities

Works with the food vendor to order meals and supply inventory for classrooms.

Portions out meals for classrooms after receiving prepared food from vendor.

Follow CACFP guidelines.

Assists in classrooms and with riding the bus as needed.

Answers front door, greets clients, and directs visitors as necessary.

Cleans the kitchen and washes dishes daily.

Cleans, sweeps, and mops hard surface areas and vacuums carpeted areas daily.

Cleans, dusts, and/or polishes windows and sills, doors and door casings, baseboards, registers, woodwork, and furniture bi-weekly or monthly.

Maintains bathrooms by cleaning and disinfecting sinks, mirrors, toilets, floors, and walls daily. Stocks with supplies when needed.

Collects and disposes of garbage from building and grounds. Replaces trash container bags daily.

Sets up and takes down tables and chairs for activities.

Shovels snow and salts paved areas as needed.

Performs basic maintenance work as assigned.

Performs miscellaneous tasks including cleaning blinds, fans, replacing light bulbs, reordering supplies, etc.

Performs basic and general maintenance work during the summer months as assigned including using power tools, moving furniture and equipment, cleaning carpets, painting facilities, delivering sanitary and office supplies, and performing routine building checks.

Assist with other duties as defined and/or requested.
