In need of an experienced defense litigation paralegal. This is not an entry level position. We are a busy law firm and we need someone who has sufficient experience to know how to actively engage in the litigation process. This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of a winning team.

Experience: Minimum four years Defense Litigation

Responsibilities:

· Assist with drafting, processing and organizing written discovery

· Draft and prepare pleadings for electronic filing with appropriate courts

· Assist attorneys with preparation for trials, hearings and depositions

· Manage attorneys’ calendars and monitor case deadlines

· Assist with the organization of electronic files

· Communicate with Court Clerks on the State and Federal levels

· Schedule and coordinate depositions, including court reporters and videographers

· Schedule and coordinate mediations

· Prepare, proofread and edit legal documents and correspondence

· General administrative tasks and other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements:

· A minimum of 4 years of experience - Real Estate litigation experience is a plus

· Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts

· Must be proficient with Outlook, Word Processing Software (Word), Time Keeping Software, and PDF

Software

· Comfortable working independently, but also as part of a litigation team

· Must be detail-oriented

· Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

simultaneously

· Must possess a solid understanding of both office and legal processes and procedures

· Must have excellent grammar, writing and editing skills, as well as strong work ethic

· Able to work overtime occasionally, especially during trials
