Job Summary

The Powder Coater prepares andcoats manufactured metal components to required color, coverage, thickness, andfinish specifications. This position reads prints and related productiondocuments, inspects parts before coating, operates and monitors powder-coatingequipment and ovens, and maintains a safe, clean, and productive work area withlimited supervision.

M - F, 6:00 am to 2:30pm

M - F, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

Responsibilities
• Maintain a steady flow of work while meeting qualityand production requirements.
• Visually inspect parts entering the coating system toverify that surfaces are properly prepared before application.
• Read prints, schematics, and production documents toconfirm the required color, coating application, and finish specifications.
• Apply powder coating consistently to achieve therequired mil thickness across products of varying sizes and configurations.
• Monitor the bake oven whenever it is in operation andidentify conditions that could affect cure or finish quality.
• Clean, inspect, and maintain spray guns,powder-coating equipment, and related tools; perform minor repairs whenappropriate.
• Inspect completed work for coverage, appearance,thickness, and other quality requirements, and correct defects when needed.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free ofavoidable safety hazards.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and followcompany safety rules, OSHA requirements, and established best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

MinimumQualifications
• At least two years of powder-coating experience in amanufacturing or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of standard powder-coating concepts,equipment, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints,schematics, prints, and basic production specifications.
• Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and maintainconsistent quality and productivity.
• High school diploma or GED.

PreferredQualifications
• Experience applying powder coating to fabricated metalproducts with varying shapes and surface areas.
• Experience measuring and maintaining specified coatingthicknesses.
• Experience maintaining spray guns, powder-deliveryequipment, and industrial bake ovens.
• Industrial wet-painting experience.

Physical andWork Environment Requirements
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that isnot climate controlled and may require overtime.
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, reach, balance,bend, twist, stoop, crouch, crawl, kneel, and climb as required by the work.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; heavierlifts may require assistance or lifting equipment.
• Ability to work around powder, paint fumes, airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moderate to high noise levels whileusing required controls and PPE.
• Vision sufficient for close and distance work, coloridentification, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
