Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Response in Birmingham, AL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for riders, employees, and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, parking areas, vehicle staging areas, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with supervisors and public emergency services as appropriate.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required documentation, and handle assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
