Description: This position is a weekend-only contract. The schedule includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for 36 hours, or Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for 48 hours. We are looking for highly motivated critical care nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity critical care environment. The unit provides care for critically ill patients who often require advanced interventions. We serve patients affected by various conditions, with a focus on cardiothoracic surgery and neurosurgery. During the pandemic, our team provided ICU-level care for patients with severe respiratory illness, including those requiring extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The unit has a capacity of 15 beds and services a diverse range of diagnoses including cardiac surgery, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmias. The patient care staff consists of registered nurses and patient care techs. The typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:2.
