Director of Purchasing

Location: Miami, FL

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Director of Purchasing to lead sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, and cost optimization initiatives across key product categories. This role will oversee Purchasing Managers, drive supplier negotiations, and ensure a consistent, cost-effective supply chain while supporting long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop Purchasing Managers, setting priorities and driving performance
Negotiate supplier agreements and manage key vendor relationships
Ensure consistent supply of products at optimal cost and service levels
Analyze market trends and pricing to support strategic sourcing decisions
Oversee forecasting, cost management, and supply chain performance
Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to support product initiatives
Ensure contract compliance and accuracy of supplier agreements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred)
4-6+ years of relevant purchasing or supply chain experience
Strong negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills
Experience managing supplier relationships and contracts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Additional Skills

Strong business acumen and problem-solving ability
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and lead within a team environment
