What You Need to Succeed as a Material Handler (Qualifications & Requirements)

High school diploma or GED required. Forklift or warehouse certs a plus. Steel or Composite toe boots required. Previous warehouse, material handling, shipping, receiving, or order picking experience preferred. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift. Comfortable working extended hours and overtime during peak seasons. Basic computer and RF scanner experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Reliable attendance and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do as a Material Handler (Responsibilities & Job Duties)

Pick, pack, stage, and prepare furniture orders for shipment and delivery. Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks safely and efficiently. Package, kit, and assemble products as needed. Use RF scanners to track inventory. Move materials throughout the warehouse while maintaining inventory accuracy. Inspect products for damage and report discrepancies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Work collaboratively to meet daily productivity and customer delivery goals. Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company standards.
