Patient Transportation Driver

The Patient Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting authorized patients of MyCare Health Center to and from authorized appointments at MyCare clinics.

Specific duties include:

• Transport passengers in a safe and lawful manner.
• Assist with storing walkers and wheelchairs.
• Be prompt in keeping appointments and adhering to agreed upon schedules.
• Abide by MyCare's rules of confidentiality.
• Record time and mileage using the assigned forms.
• Conduct routine van inspection to ensure patient and employee safety.
• Report any problems or concerns regarding a specific client or transportation request.
• Work with team members to best meet the needs of the client.
• Treat clients with respect and dignity.
• Perform only those transportation requests authorized by MyCare staff.
• Maintain company vehicle.
• Perform other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve organizational goals.
• Promote efficient, organized and pleasant operations in the health center and in the community.
• Uphold the mission of MyCare Health Center.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Valid Michigan Chauffeurs' Driver's license, with favorable driving record.
• Current auto insurance certificate.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Submit to pre-hire and annual Fitness for Duty Health exam.
• Submit to pre-hire and intermittent unannounced urine drug screens.
• CPR certification offered; not required.

Physical demands include:

• Sitting, use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Talk or hear.
• Stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
