Survey Crew Chief

Survey Crew Chief Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations and support a variety of land development, municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential projects. This position is responsible for overseeing survey crews, collecting accurate field data, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a self motivated professional who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and collaborating with engineers, surveyors, and clients. Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily survey field operations Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA, utility, and construction stakeout surveys Operate and maintain GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and other survey equipment Collect, verify, and document accurate field data Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met Perform quality control checks and maintain field notes and records Assist with survey calculations, construction layout, and as-built surveys Ensure crews follow safety procedures and maintain equipment in proper working condition Train and mentor survey technicians and field personnel Support multiple projects while maintaining schedules and deadlines Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred Minimum of 3 years of surveying experience with prior crew leadership experience preferred Proficiency with GPS equipment, robotic total stations, and electronic data collectors Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson, and survey data processing software preferred Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel locally as needed Valid driver's license with a clean driving record What We Offer Diverse project experience across public and private sectors Collaborative and team oriented work environment Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Exposure to modern survey technology and innovative project delivery methods Supportive culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement #J-18808-Ljbffr
